<image:caption>My name is Dr Jill Domoney. I am a clinical psychologist, a yoga teacher, and a researcher, specialising in antenatal and postnatal mental health. <image:title>Home - About The Yoga Psychology Centre</image:title>
<image:caption>I founded the Yoga Psychology Centre in 2021 to provide therapeutic spaces where the unique offerings of yoga and psychology are integrated for perinatal wellbeing. With over 15 years’ experience of supporting pregnant and postnatal people through clinical practice in the NHS, research, and yoga, I wanted to create a centre for sharing and developing this knowledge. You can find out more about my qualifications and background here. If you’re curious about whether this approach is right for you, why not get in touch to book a free consultation?</image:caption>

      <image:title>Psychological therapy - What is therapy?</image:title>
<image:caption>Talking therapy provides a safe space to understand and overcome your difficulties. It’s a chance for you to reflect on what’s happening in your life and relationships, make sense of the feelings and thoughts that you’re experiencing, and to develop new skills to deal with challenges and change. Therapy can be useful for a wide range of difficulties, and provides a non-judgemental, confidential space to talk about thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It can be open and long-term, or goal focused and brief, depending on your needs. What types of therapy do I use? I use a range of evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Everyone is unique, and the specific approach used will depend on your individual needs and preferences. I am also interested in understanding the wider context of people’s lives, such as family, culture, and gender, and how these contexts impact on your wellbeing and mental health</image:caption>
